My first journal of the year is the result of a deep reflection on the past twelve months, but in gratitude. Immense gratitude, for growth, growing pains, results and everything in between. 2019 was such an enlightening journey for me. A tumultuous one but I’m so grateful for the blessings that I’ve had this year. I started this blog last year and it may have saved my life. During that time, I was going through unemployment, financial and identity crises. Halfway through the year, I added on the YouTube channel and it’s been a lot of work. Everything started off slowly but your comments and your support really helped. I’m so grateful for the friends I’ve made here. Thank you all so much.
At this exact time last year, I “took time off” to rest, and decided to stop feeling sorry for m’self. I chose not to define myself by my environment, my previous self, my employment status, or even the thoughts of the people that love me (cos all “good” advice is not the right advice) Know that and know what is true for You.
As we begin the new year fully, I leave you with this:
This is YOUR life! Only you and God have a right to it, and you are the only one who has to LIVE it. And you DESERVE the love, the joy, the hope, the money, the experiences, and the existence you crave. Also, future you is depending on you, and you’re both worth it.
I’m a very strong advocate for taking SMALL STEPS, every day! So, I always say – especially to myself – “you don’t have to build everything today”. Life is short but it is too long to live it in a constant state of overwhelm. .
This is not an aspire to inspire while you perspire speech. #imjustsaying Your life can change, and dark days don’t stay dark. I’m a living testament to that. If you believe in God, then Rest in him. When you’re stirred up again (cos you will be 💁🏾♀️), I pray you choose Rest and Peace, and that you work with that! Have a little faith in the person you were created to be ✨
